First of all, let me introduce this place. Cappadocia Nevsehir in Turkey. The region has been inhabitated since pre historic times by many civilizations such as Romans, the Byzantines and the Ottomans. We can observe the history of the region in 3 periods. The first period bla bla bla. I don`t wanna go into historic details, I`m not your history teacher, you can find it on another websites more detailed and more accurately. Let me just give you a hint on best, fast and yet economic way to reach Cappadocia since this is the main reason of this site.

Transportation

Of course it depends on size of your group, budget, priority etc...

If you are travelling as a group of 5 or less I will recommend you to rent a car, unlike many other European countries cost is pretty affordable in Turkey, share the expenses. Booking online is cheaper than renting in person. Also keep in mind that you need to bring your international driver license and don`t forget your credit card. However Ankara is closer to Cappadocia than Istanbul in terms of distance, 285 km and 730 km, respectively, which can be a all day drive. Advantage of renting car is that you can go wherever and whenever you want to go. Salt lake is no exception, in the way to Cappadocia.

Or are you travelling as a couple. Then my advice is to join a tour provided by travel agencies, pretty affordable, starts from 400TL (70$) as of April 2019 including 1 night stay, breakfast and dinner, guided tours, enters to national parks.

Last but not least, if you are looking for comfort, not on budget then the best way to get Cappadocia is direct flight from Istanbul, not available from Ankara, and Turkish domestic flights are often much more expensive if purchased outside of Turkey, so you should consider having a good Turkish travel agency make your internal flight reservations, or make them yourself on the airline's website. Turkish travel agencies can help with any other arrangements (private guides, hotels, rental cars,yacht cruises) you may need as well. I will not recommend other options such as going by bus or train because it takes time and effort, and almost similar in terms of price.

Pack travel tour

Actually tourists choose this place to take flight in hot air balloon more than its unique landscape. If you are not staying the night in Cappadocia I would recommend you to be there before sunrise because flights start from 5 AM in the morning. Price starts from 175 euro (Standard flight), lasts 1 hour and operated with 18-24 people. If you are celebrating special event why not booking your private flight which cost you a fortune, 2500 euro, but worth it. So that`s all you can do in Nevsehir. Okay that was a little joke, don`t worry it`s not finished yet.

Since you saw the landscape now walk through this amazing valley, you will also see animal-like rock formations that look like a sculpture zoo created by nature. This shape is unique for Cappadocia where these fairy chimneys are named ‘mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys’. In 1985 Göreme National Park and other rock sites in the area were designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Next stop is one of the most-visited attractions, underground city of Derinkuyu.
